Dry skin has always been a known problem for many years and it is not something that is going to change. That's why here you get the history of skin care and some good advice for dry skin.
You'll be surprised at how much skin care for men actually has. Because even though it's becoming fairly common among men to take their skin care seriously, it's certainly not a new trend, it's actually an old one...
Story time
History reveals that skin care was actually adopted by men as far back as ancient Egypt. Their interest in skin care and hygiene related to the desire to be able to attract a spouse and to stand out in a competitive society. Well, it's no secret that men choose to take their skin care seriously in order to, among other things, be more prominent also in connection with attention from the opposite sex.
Regardless of men's motivation for getting into skin care, there is plenty to suggest that this was more common in the "old" days. From as early as 10,000 BC men used scented oils and salves to soften the skin and mask body odor.
Ancient Egyptians used oils and creams for protection from the sun and dry climate. Skin care has almost been a part of our everyday life since day one. Today there are several different types of care products for the skin, some are more targeted to specific problems, such as acne, whereas others are basic remedies for a general, healthier skin. We also recommend seeing a dermatologist before jumping into different products if you have a specific problem.
1. Use a moisturizer against dry skin
Sometimes the most obvious things can feel like revelations. If we had to guess at one care product that you most likely have sitting in the bathroom or used in your life, it would be moisturiser. Especially with our weather conditions taken into account, it would be a huge mistake not to have something that can help the skin. Dry skin or not, it's a relief for your skin to have some moisture added throughout the day. Summer summary, use moisturizer, every day! Do it after you have cleaned your face with a face wash or similar. In this way, you remove impurities and dirt before applying moisturizer, which will then also give you a better effect. Should you be looking, we can recommend our very own Moisturizer Plus
2. Sunscreen is not just for summer
The sun's UV rays also have a noticeable effect on your skin in the colder months. No matter what skin color you have, a sunscreen will strengthen your defense against radiation from the sun. In addition, not very many men use sunscreen outside of the summer periods, which we think is a shame. As mentioned before, it is important to be well covered against UV rays all year round. If you don't want a lot of different products, look for a moisturizer that contains.
3. Body lotion
If you struggle with dry and itchy skin, not just on your face but all over your skin, you should probably look at a body lotion. Body lotion is (unfortunately) still not among the men's favorite product and, frankly speaking, that's probably because an effort actually has to be made to use it. The product may require more than just 20 seconds to use and this may scare some people away from using it. If you find time in your busy everyday life to apply a body lotion after bathing, you will notice significant changes. Especially if you have itchy, irritated and/or dry skin. It makes a huge difference to your corpus just to have a go at this and the more often you use it, the faster you can get rid of your blemishes.
