Would you like to learn more about how to keep your skin fresh and free of wrinkles? So read along here! We take a closer look at which measures you can use.
Why do wrinkles occur?
First of all, we would like to state that there is absolutely nothing wrong with wrinkles. It is a natural process in the skin's development and none of us escapes it. For some, wrinkles can even add some character to the face and appear welcoming. If you still want to be free of wrinkles, at a premature age, then we understand you well. We have therefore collected some knowledge and advice for preventing wrinkles, but first, let's take a look at how they actually occur.
Basically, everyone's skin ages, which of course also explains why there is a big difference between how a 9-year-old's skin looks and a 90-year-old's. The skin loses its elasticity over the years because the production of collagen declines over time. This process can be aggravated by a number of factors, including sun exposure and certain lifestyle habits. As you get older, your skin will also become thinner and drier. If you combine the aforementioned with a lack of moisture, you will also be more exposed to the formation of wrinkles.
Use sunscreen
Now that we have talked about how wrinkles occur, it is quite appropriate to talk about what you can do yourself to prevent this. Something worth noting in this context is that genetics plays a decisive role in the development of wrinkles. There can be a big difference from person to person in how well prepared one's skin is against wrinkles. We have therefore dealt with general, but still useful advice on what you can do, regardless of age, genetics, etc.
Moisture and water
The second piece of advice is that under no circumstances should you do without a moisturizing cream for your face. A regular moisturizer keeps your skin hydrated and moist. This gives the skin elasticity and strengthens its defenses.
Next good advice is a wet one of the kind, namely water! Now make sure to drink plenty of water. Lack of water can not only be felt, but also directly seen on the body. If you drink enough water throughout the day, you're guaranteed not only to be fresher, but also to look better.
Sleep your way to success
You can actually sleep to success, it's good enough, but it depends on how you sleep. If you don't usually sleep on your back, you are actually putting extra pressure on your skin, which can be spotted in the form of marks and wrinkles. In addition, you can consider whether you should change the pillow cover to a silk one. Studies show that silk is not as hard-wearing against the skin and therefore you can advantageously invest in a silk bed set. This will reduce friction on the skin and also prevent wear.
Regular smoking has no positive effect on your health, nor on your skin. Smoking provokes aging of the skin. So Quit smoking if you don't want to exert more pressure on your skin and health in general.
